Today, on FOOD, FICTION, AND FOOLISHNESS, I’m sharing a quick recipe that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, plus it only takes 5 ingredients!

SALTINE TOFFEE COOKIES

Ingredients

4 ounces saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
¾ cups chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Line cookie sheet with foil for easy cleanup, then lay saltine crackers on sheet in a single layer.

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn’t stick or burn.
Remove from heat and pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
Bake for 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of crackers.

Let sit for 5 minutes, then spread melted chocolate with spatula, and sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
Cool completely and break into pieces.
